Leggiamo Giaveno - Strong Women
Sala Specchi (Municipio di Giaveno)
As part of the "Leggiamo Giaveno" series, two authors present their historical novels dedicated to female figures from 17th and 18th century Piedmont. Giuseppe Conte tells the story of Maria Chiaberge, known as Maria Bricca, a commoner from Pianezza who fights against the social prejudices of her time. Erica Bonansea, instead, narrates the events of Bianca, a mother and midwife, who between Cardè, Staffarda and Bricherasio risks being accused of witchcraft in order to maintain her independence.
