108th anniversary of the Victory, National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day
- Procession
Piazza Antonini, Varallo
Organised by Comune di Varallo
Varallo celebrates on Sunday 8 November 2026 the 108th anniversary of the Victory in the First World War, on National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day. The commemoration of 4 November recalls the end of the Great War and, as every year, is also an opportunity to remember the 14 victims of the Levante landslide, which devastated the town on 6 November 1994. The programme opens at 9:30 in Piazza Antonini with the gathering of the Gonfalone, civil and military authorities, bodies, associations and citizens together with the Banda Musicale Città di Varallo. This is followed by the procession with a stop in Via Umberto I, the laying of the laurel wreath at the Monument to the Fallen, the blessing at the Sacrario and the Holy Mass in the Collegiata di S. Gaudenzio in memory of the Fallen. The event is promoted by the Comune di Varallo.
