From mid-September to late November, Piazzale Milite Ignoto in Venasca hosts the traditional Mercato della Castagna, a reference point for those seeking local products directly from producers. An opportunity to buy fresh seasonal chestnuts, freshly harvested from the area's chestnut groves.
The market is held every Monday and Thursday afternoon: from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM during daylight saving time, and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM when standard time is in effect. Admission is free.
In October, the market is part of the larger Festa della Castagna di Venasca, which enlivens the town center with events and appointments dedicated to the symbolic fruit of the Cuneo autumn.
